As I would scroll through my Instagram feed a few weeks ago, I would always come across pictures of green lattes with the most impressive latte art ; some that even included pictures of cute teddies :o. I thought it would be a once off phenomenon, but I would continue to see them. I eventually found out that they are called Matcha lattes (I know, I’m so delayed because they are basically found in every cafe these days) and the ones I kept seeing were from White Mojo! So I finally went with a friend to try them out and my gosh was the flavour so unusually good! My latte at first was sweet, yet as the liquid remained in my mouth, a stronger earthy bitterness came through. It also looked beautiful in the white cup against the white marble tables.
While we were at White Mojo, we also decided to try some of their dishes. These included the Mexican MAMA Omelette, the Eton Mess and the Waffles.
The omelette, as the name suggests, was like your average omelette with an added Mexican twist. The nacho chips gave the dish an added crunch and the coolness of the cherry tomatoes and avocado salsa cut through the spice perfectly. The spinach was a nice addition to the plate as it gave it a nice pop of colour amongst the reds and yellows, but there was a little too much for my liking.
The Eton Mess was presented marvellously, but my friend and I laughed at the same time about where the rest of it was, haha! Half the plate was empty! But this didn’t detract from the dish as a whole. The yoghurt was smooth and silky which was beautifully juxtaposed with the crunch of the meringue and the burst of freshness from the seasonal berries.
Finally, the waffles were absolutely delicious! Could not stop raving about these beauties. I have a massive sweet tooth so these weren’t a problem, but if you don’t like an overly sweet dessert (let’s face it, who doesn’t love an overly sweet dessert), this may not be for you. It also didn’t hurt that they were super pretty to look at <3.
Overall, I was captivated by White Mojo’s charm. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted by the friendly staff and I was also asked on where I wanted to sit (which doesn’t happen very often). I actually apologise to the people who sat near my friend and I. I legitimately took photos for at least 15 minutes and I was probably in their way half the time, haha! The Matcha latte was amazing and so was the food! For all of you that take pictures like me for an obligatory Insta/blog post, don’t fret because there is a lot of lighting and aesthetic marble tables as backgrounds. I would also like to say a big thank-you to our waiter for constantly making sure we were happy with the service and most of all, for helping us with our table layout for those pics ;)!

White Mojo definitely delivered on the quality of the service and food. I love this part, “my friend and I laughed at the same time about where the rest of it was, haha! Half the plate was empty!” It was that good, I could not get enough of the Eton Mess! I can’t wait to read your next blog! Xx

Hey, what camera or filters do you use to edit your photos? They look really sharp and bright!

Hi Cat! Thanks for visiting my page! I use a DSLR. I use the Nikon D5500 with a normal 18-55 mm zoom lens. For editing, I use VSCO and I use the S2 filter which I bring down a notch to about +9. I then saturate by 1 or 2 notches to bring out the colours of the dish. Depending on how ‘warm’ the pics are, I may turn down the temperature as well. Hope that helps! 🙂
